Mastering Statistical Analysis Series - Level 1
Introduction:
Amid the rapid advancements in science and technology, statistical analysis has become an indispensable tool across all fields of scientific research and business. In response to this pressing need, the Scientific Events Gate is pleased to announce the organization of the series "Mastering Statistical Analysis - Level 1." This course aims to equip participants with the essential and fundamental skills in statistical analysis using the renowned SPSS software.
The course will span over three weeks, totaling 12 training hours, distributed over two weekly lectures, each lasting two hours. The course will cover a range of topics starting from an introduction to statistics, types of variables and data, data collection methods, to data coding and preparation for analysis, and understanding the scientific basis for formulating hypotheses and testing them statistically.
This series presents a valuable opportunity for researchers and professionals from various fields to enhance their skills in statistical analysis and gain a deeper understanding of data, contributing to the improvement of the quality of their research and scientific decisions.
Level 1 Topics:
- Introduction to statistics, types of variables, data, data collection methods, and survey design.
- Introduction to types of samples and training on determining the sample size according to the methodology used.
- Data coding, preparation, and modification before analysis using SPSS.
- Understanding the scientific basis for formulating and deriving hypotheses, steps for statistical hypothesis testing, the basis for making appropriate statistical decisions, types of errors in decision-making, and how to avoid them.
- Explanation of descriptive statistics for qualitative data, basic statistical analysis methods, and interpretation of results.
- Identification and treatment of outliers and significance in statistical decisions.
- Handling missing values.
- Testing the significance of differences in qualitative data.
- Measuring effect size for related samples.
Instructor:
Prof.Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim El-Kholy, Professor of Economics, Zagazig University, Egypt. Prof. El-Kholy is a professor in the Department of Economics at Zagazig University, holds a Certified Instructor Professional Trainer (CIPT) certification from the USA, and a Diploma in Statistics from the Institute of Statistical Studies and Research, Cairo University. He has conducted numerous training courses both in-person and online in collaboration with various platforms in the field of statistical analysis using SPSS, AMOS, EViews, SAS, M-stat, Statistics, Excel, and GraphPad Prism. He has provided numerous courses as a certified trainer at the Faculty and Leadership Development Center at Zagazig University, including scientific writing and plagiarism avoidance, research methodology, and international publication of scientific research. He has participated in several research projects such as the economic efficiency of mechanized agriculture, political participation of Egyptian women, behavioral disorders in Egyptian streets, and fisheries in Egypt. He has also conducted statistical analysis for many master's and doctoral theses and scientific research in the fields of human and veterinary medicine, pharmacy, sciences, agriculture, special education, physical education, general education, arts, and commerce within and outside Egypt. His practical works include the book "Computer and Office Programs" and "Introduction to Statistics and Probability Distributions."
