Introduction:
Choosing a research title is the first and most influential step in a researcher’s academic journey. It serves as the reader’s gateway to the subject, accurately reflecting the scope of study and its core problem. In the field of Islamic sciences, this step gains even greater importance due to the diversity of specializations and the interplay between classical texts, scholarly heritage, and contemporary issues. This workshop aims to equip researchers with the scholarly criteria that should be observed when formulating a research title in Islamic studies, supported by practical examples that highlight common mistakes and methods for addressing them.
Workshop Topics:
The significance of the title in Islamic research and its role in guiding the study.
Methodological guidelines for crafting a title: clarity, precision, comprehensiveness, and thematic boundaries.
Distinguishing between general and specialized titles, as well as between classical and contemporary approaches.
Common mistakes in selecting a title and how to correct them.
Practical exercises in evaluating and improving proposed titles in Islamic studies.
